“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” Quote by Josh Billings | ||||

Cooper is a little timid/scared/shy when first meeting him. His nature is to be somewhat nervous. He’s such a quirky lil dog once you get to know him though. He’s “a hoarder”. He loves to bring toys and shoes into his kennel. He doesn’t chew the shoes, just picks them up and carries them to his “nest”. Can’t find a shoe? Follow Cooper’s trail . He loves being next to you, cuddling with you, giving you kisses. He’s quite person-possessive. He gets along with the other lil dog in the house but chases the cat away any chance he gets. He wants all your attention and could be considered an attention-mongrel. He loves to roam around the yard. He comes when called and listens fairly well when off-leash; doesn’t go too far but a fenced-in area is best when outside. He’s a bit of a food mongrel. We feed him separately from the others so he can’t eat all their food too. He is mostly house-trained. He will sneak into the basement and leave some ‘kibble-bits” though. He barks quite a bit when new people are around so we’ll sometimes put him in his kennel to settle him down. He’s fine after a while. He loves rawhides, Denta-Stix and squeaky toys. He squirms a little when getting his nails clipped but is fine when you hold him still. Cooper loves to crawl under the blankets and sleep as close to you as possible, whether he’s in your bed at night or chilling with you on the couch. He likes when you shuffle your feet, or pretend like you want to chase him, and for a little dog he is incredibly fast! When foster mom first got him she kept him in the kennel during the day while at work. Most recently though she keeps him gated in a 3-room area, and he does great. When she gets home, he stands at the gate barking and jumping up with a great big smile on his face. Yes, he smiles! His foster mom thinks he’d do best in a one, or two, person household with one other dog; perhaps a retired couple? Someone with lots of patience and likes a quirky little personality will suit him fine. Any ‘issues’ he may have are over-looked as he has no shortage or personality!
