Oh, Hello!  I’m Harley and I have discovered I am in need of a new forever home. I’ve been here at NDLB before and found myself a great family but unfortunately we recently had to go our separate ways even though it wasn't my fault. I am very adaptable, though, and have jumped right into my new pack at my foster family’s house. They are all great. They like having me around and say I am welcome to stay as long as I need to, but I really feel like there is someone out there who really needs all the love, support, companionship and fun that I have to offer - these folks seem to have that covered already with my good foster sisters (their resident dogs) and my goofy foster brother too.  I’m looking for a caring person or people of any age who are looking for a dog who has been around the block a few times.

I know I look very mature and distinguished with my muzzle starting to go silver but I assure you I am only six years old, healthy, and very much in the prime of my life!  At the same time, you can be confident that I have moved past my rowdy puppyish days - I am crate and potty trained and I NEVER chew on your things or steal shoes.  You could say I bring all the chill, ease and grace of a senior dog, while still having plenty of playful spunk to bring a smile to your face.

Let me tell you a little about what it’s like to live with me:  First of all, I am told I have the very softest, nicest fur and am delightful to pet. I eat and sleep quite happily in my crate but would also love to cuddle up with you at bedtime, if that is your preference!  I love humans!  I love snoozing! I also really like other dogs a lot! I am happy chilling out with the calm ones but I also like to play and romp with the bigger, rowdier ones!  I do my best to avoid getting into a doggie disagreement but I do let other dogs know when I don’t like what they are doing.  Even my exuberant, nosy foster brother and his cone are safe with me.   Cats?  Look, cats are fine but I have not had one as a best friend and I’m not really sure I want to, no matter what the cat in my foster home may think (He’s just a bit over-friendly, and I don’t have a problem with him, I’m just not sure what he’s all about).  I am great in a fenced yard, for sure, but I admit that walking the polite walk is a bit of a challenge…for both of us.  At 80 lbs. of doggo, I’m probably either gonna need some more lessons or one of those no-pull harnesses if you want me to escort you around town.  I have also been known to be a little nervous about automotive travel, but you know, it’s not a deal-breaker for me or anything - I’ll hop right in and put up with it if that’s what you want.  I’m not afraid to get up close and personal and I’d love to show you how much I care by leaning into you, literally!  I’m happy to reciprocate - if you are feeling sad, lonely or tired or scared, you can always lean on me, so to speak.  It will be my honor and privilege to be there for you when you need me, any time, day or night. I'd love to meet you!
