A little background on Scarlett. I run a FB page with 2 other women called "Missing Pets in the Northland", basically just an offset of LostDogs-Mn where we focus on our area. A woman had contacted us from Cotton, Mn. with information on a stray dog that had been seen numerous times throughout the summer and had been getting thinner by the day. This was about a half hour East of HWY 53, so she was far back into the woods where there were a few cabins around. We are assuming she was with a family during a cabin stay and must have ran off or something. People in that area held a town meeting and nobody knew who she was, so we know she wasn't a locals dog. The girls and I went up there and set up a feeding station and a trail cam that had live feed which sent real time photos to our phones. She started showing up at the feeding station several times a day, so we went ahead and set up a live trap. After a couple days of her entering the live trap to eat, we set it and waiting in our vehicle. Within 5 minutes we heard the door slam and she was caught. We took her to the vet and she tested positive for both Lymes disease and Anaplasmosis and was prescribed antibiotics. She was given tick/flea meds and updated on all her vaccinations. AT the time we were supposed to take her to our local shelter, but they backed out because they were full. I took her in temporarily which has turned out to be months later. She's really a great dog.
The vet's best guess was Boxer/Bulldog mix and approximately 2 years old.
She is not spayed or microchipped, but up to date on all other vacc.
She has had puppies before.
She gets along with other dogs, and does amazing with children.
My daughter is 6 years old, and she seems to love her.
She's very good on a leash and does not pull.
She loves toys, but tends to shred things if left alone.
She isn't food or toy aggressive, but got in a tiff with my other dog once over an open bag of food. (my fault)
She currently isn't completely potty trained due to her being a stray for so long, but I am working on that. She is doing much better than before, but still has accidents.
She is low energy, but loves her walks.
She isn't a barker.
She's not a huge fan of kennels, but I am also working with her on that.
She really is an amazing dog, and I would keep her if I didn't have 2 dogs already.
She doesn't even come up to my knees, but is a beefy dog. :)
