Hi, I’m Zoei a 7-year Golden Retriever. Foster Mom says I’m the easiest and happiest dog around. I say, life is good and every minute should be enjoyed to its fullest. My moto is live, love, laugh. For a middle-aged dog, I am fairly active and enjoy long walks or games of fetch. I walk well on a leash until I see a person I want to greet, then I sometimes forget and pull a little. But I listen very well and will sit as instructed. At home I keep myself entertained playing with all my toys. My favorite pastime is laying on my back and throwing my toys in the air. Squeaky toys are my absolute favorite. I know basic commands, sit, stay, come, shake, down, and off. I’m completely housetrained. I’ll sit by the door when I want to go outside. I easily learned where the potty spot is in the back yard. Foster Mom says I’m a very fast learner. I am very good when riding in the car. I always stay in my place and just look out the window. I’ll lower my upper body and raise my butt and bark at a kennel. So, I guess I’m not much of a fan of kennels. I do well having free roam of the house and I’m o.k. being gated off in a smaller area. I love, love, love humans. My purpose in life is to stay as close to them as I can and make them laugh and feel happy. When they are happy, I’m happy. If I’m not playing I want to be as close to my human as I can. I make a great foot warmer and exercise buddy. I can even lay on your legs to help you with sit-ups. I’m rather nonchalant when it comes to other dogs. I have no issue with them, just prefer humans. Cats on the other hand are rather interesting. At first I had to be reminded they are not a toy. I’ve now learned to just watch them and wag my tail. I would do best in a semi-active home. I can be very calm but really enjoy life and play. A home with older children would be awesome. I bounce around when playing, so might be too much for a home with small children or other small pets.
