Hi, my name is Tara. I am a Chihuahua mix.  I am about 1 year old and weigh 13 pounds.  My family never cut my nails causing them to grow into my pads, never brushed me, did not feed me enough & never gave me any love. One day I decided to leave. The police picked me up. My family said they did not want to spend the money to get me out of jail. I ended up going into rescue and am now enjoying life at my foster home. I live with 3 other small dogs and a really big dog. I don’t mind them but I would rather be by the humans. They let me snuggle as much as I want/need. When we are on the couch watching TV, I snuggle real close to my foster mom & she rubs my belly, scratches my ears & rubs her fingers along my lips, nose, head & neck. It feels so good! I just lay there on my back and soak up all the love I can get. When we go to bed, I go under the blankets and snuggle real close to my foster mom. When they go to work, they just leave me out in the house. I play with all the toys they have for us dogs & scatter them all over the place. I am such a good girl! They have a doggy door & piddle pads by the door. When it is not really cold or raining, I use the doggy door to go outside to potty. When it is cold or raining, I use the piddle pads. I would prefer it if my humans would come outside with me while I take care of business though. I also like to go on car rides & go for walks. I love humans of all kinds. I don’t think I have ever met a cat but I don’t think I would pay any attention to them because I am too busy following my humans around trying to get love, love & more love!

Tara's adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, spay, 4DX, prepaid microchip, dewormer, Rabies vaccine, Distemper combo vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $350.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
