“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” Quote by Josh Billings | ||||

"Meet Mr. Cam! We named him after hockey hall-of-famer Cam Neely, who was known for doing his best and working hard; however, we didn’t know puppy Cam’s personality before naming – ha! Cam is the epitome of an easy-going, laid-back, lackadaisical puppy. (By the way, who doesn’t love a lazy dog?!) Now, don’t get me wrong, Cam is extremely independent, as well, so know right away that it will take him some time to warm-up to you, but once he does he’s so lovable and will surprise you with his ways of showing affection. He prefers napping alone, off on his own in another room (either on the rug in front of the room where he sleeps at night, or in front of his kennel in that room), though he will entertain the idea of napping with/near you, but at night it’s definitively on his own and in his kennel, that’s what he prefers (unless there's a storm, then he may cry to let you know he's up and welcome the opportunity to sleep next to you). Cam appreciates the structure of a routine and loves when it’s food time! He will haphazardly make his way down the stairs (he accompanies me while I make coffee in the AM after our walk down the street), talking the whole time, sharing his excitement that it’s time to eat! It’s the cutest – and usually he tumbles at least once during that jaunt. He seems to always drink after eating and with his long ears, as well as sloppy slurps, there is water around afterward, including on the tips of his ears. He has big ol’ puppy feet, too, and long leggies to boot. In 6 years of fostering we have never had a Mastiff mix, nor a puppy with a personality like Mr. Cam’s, so we wanted to wait a few weeks to get him posted in order to accurately describe him in order to find a forever family that can fully appreciate all that he has to offer! He gives so much love and is just a bundle of joy – truly – and it’s fun to have a puppy that is weeks old going on years old (like when they say a child is 6 going on 16, that’s Cam!). Cam will still have an accident, but we regularly let him out, particularly in the AM, after playing (which he doesn’t do a ton of with our resident dog, but has his spurts of energy), anytime after a nap or waking-up, and right before bedtime. Again, he sleeps in his kennel - accident free - and does like it. He will go in there and be curled-up in the back corner before we even shut the light off. We do give treats at bedtime, as well as occasionally after going outside and coming back in. He enjoys sunbathing – sometimes – and does so outside on either deck or inside next to a sliding glass door. Outside he enjoys exploring the yard, watching bugs and butterflies, as well as eating sticks, grass, plants, etc. – ha! If I’m gardening he can usually be found lying in the grass watching things around him, or sitting on the path being the quiet observer. Cam is truly a unique pup that we adore more and more each day. Should you find he sounds like a perfect fit for you forever, please request a time to meet this handsome, sweet boy!!" Cam's adoption fee includes: DHPP vaccination to age, Bordetella vaccination, rabies vaccination, neuter,de-wormer, flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue, pre-paid microchip, and a full veterinary exam: $475.00 More about CamGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Good with Adults, Quiet, Requires a yard, Cratetrained, Likes to play with toys, Obedient, Playful, Affectionate, Even-tempered, Gentle, Goofy
