Hi there! My name is  Rhodie  (pronounced “roadie")! I’m originally a Southern boy from Alabama, but I didn’t have a home there, so I ended up in a shelter. They make sure I got taken care of, but after awhile No Dog Left Behind brought me here…and I’m LOVING it! I’ve been with my foster parents for a few days and they tell me I’m being a really good boy. I love to be around my foster parents (and people in general) and enjoy giving snuggles and kisses. Sometimes they tell me “no” when I’m trying to jump up and give hugs, so I’m getting better at containing my my excitement.  I’m really smart and am learning some new tricks like “sit”, “lay down”, “stay”, and “come”. I really love the treats and praise I get when I’m a good listener! I like to play, but I’m also very mellow and enjoy a good nap. I’m good at sharing my toys and my favorite new bone (pictured below). I kennel at night time and when my foster parents are away. I don’t mind it much, although it takes some coaxing (and treats) to get me inside, but I  usually just sleep or play with a toy while I’m in there. I always go outside to go potty and haven’t had any accidents in the house. However, I’m not a huge fan of my harness. My foster parents are working on getting me used to wearing it when I go outside to potty or go for a walk.

There aren’t any other animals at my foster parent’s house, which is okay with me. I have seen some neighbor dogs through the fence and seen some other dogs on walks. I’m always friendly and wag my tail when I encounter other dogs, even if they bark at me. I think I’d like to get to know some other doggies, but my foster parents said not yet! No one is sure if I’ve been around cats…what are those? I’m friendly with new people and don’t bark or act scared when someone comes to the door. My foster family says I’d be a great addition to any home! I’d really love to meet you and maybe you’ll get a few kisses while I’m at it!
