James T. Kirk came to us last year after the hurricanes in the south.  He came in with 3 other dogs; all of them were heartworm positive.  James was also very scared and needed time have treatment and work on coming out of his shell.  James is a sweet sweet boy!  He loves to cuddle in your lap and is more on the mellow side but he does like to play with dogs of all sizes.  James loves his kennel.  James in on a schedule for potty brakes but does very well when kept on a schedule and if he is in his kennel he will tell you he needs out.   James does well with older kids but may be a little scared for very small kids. James still can be scared easily and would do well in a quite home that he can curl up with you and chill.  James also prefers women over men and had become quite attached to his foster mom.  I think with time James will even come out more in a new home.  He will need time to settle in so please be prepared for a few weeks of getting to know each other.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, rabies vaccine, neuter, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $385.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
