Hello! My name is (Princess) Leia! I am very sweet, affectionate and love all humans!  I am in a foster home with three boys ages 4-10 and they always have friends visiting. I have showed no aggression towards them even when they are being very loud and rambunctious . I want to be by any of my foster family members and will lay by their feet or cuddle on the couch with them if they are staying put.

There is one resident d og in my foster home and we get along great. I like to play with him too. When I have had enough of his puppy energy I give hi m a little growl and he leaves me alone. I will lay in the sun by the big window with him. It reminds me of the warm Texas weather I am use to feeling.

I am not fully  house trained. I think with stability I will get it. Overnight my foster parents kennel me so I don't have accidents. When they let me out of the kennel I go straight outside to go potty. They either put me on the tie out or walk me in the potty spot outside.  I have had the most trouble with pooping outside. My foster parents aren't sure if it is the  Minnesota snow and cold that is making me not want to go outside or if it is from my past history.  They are optomistic that I will get it.

I need to be on a leash or tie out or will run away. Having a fenced in yard would be nice however, I don't mind being on a leash or tie out.

I am crate trained, but well-behaved. My fosters use  the crate when they are gone and at night to help with my potty training.  I have not chewed on any of my foster human's things.

My foster parents say I am a sterotypical Bassett Hound and have some stubbornn ess when I don't want to move. I do have s ome basic training. I spend a lot of time sleeping and sun bathing. However, I like to run and play with the  kids. I have let my foster family hear me bark. It is a quiet hound bark and not very frequent.  I may only bark because the resident dog  has a very loud hound bark and want to join him. I don't mind baths at all and my foster family things I enjoy them.  They also say any family would be lucky to have such a sweet, calm dog.
