Rita is a very sweet, docile 4 year old dog that is simply looking for love. Her past is unknown but she has signs of some previous mistreatment. She is shy upon first meeting, but warms up quite quickly. Once you show her love, gentle touch, and treats, she’ll be your friend forever. She will give you tiny licks or lightly push her head into your hand to show her affection, and there is really no greater feeling. She wants to be near you, but is not overbearing, often just laying down by your feet. She would love to be with you 24/7 but if you must leave her, or don’t want a sleeping buddy, she will go into the kennel. She’s working through some separation anxiety but her current foster works 40 hours in an office, and she stays in the kennel at home with chew toys. She is fully potty trained, and walks on a leash like a champ. Speaking of walking, that's her favorite pastime! It’s unknown how she’d do with cats, or small children under 5. She needs slow introductions with other dogs, and would need a calm dog in the home or would be content as the only dog. She is not very food motivated (which means no begging), affection is what she is seeking most. She doesn’t jump, and doesn’t whine or bark. She rides in the car with no problems, quickly laying down to relax. You know how they say there is no love like a rescue dog love, that is true with her. She knows what it's like to have a rough past, and now she is hoping you can show her the good life!

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $385.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
