Toby is a 16 week old (born April 16, 2018) lab mix that came to Minnesota with his mama and 4 siblings to find his forever home. We don't know about the male but mama is on the small side for a lab not weighing in too much more than about 35 pounds.  I don't think he will be too much larger than that, maybe top out at 50 pounds or so. He weighs about 15-20 pounds right now. Toby is an athletic, adventurous, medium energy level dog. He's always using his sniffer so the vet says he would probably make a great hunting dog. He is very silly and keeps us laughing. He is also very smart and very sweet. He is a lover of all people!  He loves giving kisses and getting attention.  If he can get over his excitement when he meets you (we are working on not jumping up on people), he would love for you to pet him and may even give you his belly to rub. He has turned in to quite the cuddler and lap doggy. He likes to play with and chew on the toys and wrestle with his mama and his siblings. He also enjoys his walks with mama around the neighborhood. He has done very well around other dogs too. We just had a 10 week old lab puppy that we were dog sitting and Toby loved to play with her but also knew when it was time to quit and be gentle.  He goes potty outside like a champ but doesn't quite yet understand how to ask to go out when he needs to. He loves treats and will come up the deck from the backyard when he hears the crinkle of the bag and or me yelling "treat" when it is time to come inside. He's treat motivated so I am using that to work on "sit" "down" "kennel" and "stay."   Toby does very well in his crate at night and when I go out for the day. Some whining but it stops rather quickly. At night when he goes into the crate he settles right down and doesn't start stirring until about  6:30 . He's also a pretty good listener when I tell him "no." Like when he gets into my perennial garden. Even if he forgets the next day, he quickly remembers when he sees me coming and runs off. He is spunky and determined but he also has a really sweet side that is so endearing. I think with more consistent training he will be a very obedient dog and a wonderful companion.  Toby will most likely do well in a home with other dogs and/or children.  However, older children would probably be best until he gets past his chewing stage.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, rabies vaccination, neuter heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $450.00
