“Meet  Reagan Reagan , a purebred Yellow Lab, thankfully arrived to rescue on 9/16 from an Amish breeder in Missouri, where I’m told the dogs/puppies don’t get light, heat, or any other comforts of life. Upon arrival, this sweet pea had a deep gash at the top of one of her front legs, along with several scars all over her body, which prevented her from being sold and ending-up who-knows-where. Despite all of this, she could not be any more of a delightful, little, innocent puppy.  Reagan  was immensely shy at first, cowering in any small space she could find, flattening to the ground when we walked up to her. My guess is that her interactions with humans up until now were far from positive. She is coming around, being less and less afraid, opening-up more to us, showing affection, wanting to be near or next to you, playing with toys, with other dogs (we have a resident Lab who was the first she warmed-up to), and not being worried of being harmed by the world around her! When outside she sticks to you like glue, always right next to you (even without a leash, which she is also good on). If she does venture off with our resident Lab, she quickly returns realizing you’re further away than she prefers. After a few days, she did learn that she is to poop and pee outside, and we continue to celebrate like crazy for her when she does (and she celebrates, too - jumping-up with glee!!)! She tends to sleep a lot (growing puppy), wants you to be near during meal time (she eats kibble in her crate, I think she gets worried she’ll be left in there, so she won’t eat everything if you disappear), and every time outside of that. She’ll play with toys and with our resident Lab, but not for too long, then it’s nap time. She’s been known to nap under my feet at my desk, next to me on the sofa, or on my lap on our bed. Because she doesn’t love her crate (likes it better when our Lab is in there with her on his bed), we do have her sleep with us at night to ensure we all  do  get sleep. She nestles between us, the first few nights breathing heavily (thought she was hot, but wondering if she was nervous instead), but now she crashes long before we do, regrettably rising when it’s time to wake-up in the morning. After going outside and having you watch over her as she eats her breakfast, she’ll play a little or go back to bed – whichever you choose (or sometimes both). She is simply the most adorable puppy dog, following you wherever you go (though still not wanting to be approached quickly) and has a heart of gold.  Reagan  is looking for a family that’ll provide her with every comfort of life – and all the love – forever, could it be with you?”
