Hey ya'll! My name is Ivy and I am a 4 1/2 month old Welsh Corgi mix who came in from Kentucky. At first I was so chill my foster mama couldn't believe I was still a puppy - but then I woke up sick one day...that explained a lot! I spent that day at Dr. Mary's and she gave me fluids and medicine so now I'm healthy as can be and ready for my spay next week. I currently live in a house with 2 fur brothers - one young and one old and both are WAY bigger than me. Now that I have more energy I like to wrestle with my foster brother. Sometimes I get a little scared and roll over on my back to show him my belly, but in a few seconds I'm right back in the game! My old brother doesn't like to play with other dogs, and even though my foster mom and dad say he doesn't like puppies, he sure does like me! He even lets me cuddle up with him on the big bed or on the couch. When I first got here I didn't really know what toys were. My fur brother would shove them in my face to try to get me to play, but I just didn't know what I was supposed to do! Slowly I have learned that these weird things are pretty fun! I like to toss them up in the air and run after them. When no one else is interested I will empty the toy basket and bring them all one by one into the big dog bed then take a nap with them - it's really pretty cute. The other dogs don't mind my hoarding because I don't mind at all if they come sneak one or two away!
I love my humans too - they are very good cuddlers and I do like to cuddle. There are a couple of kids next door, and I try, but I'm kind of unsure of them. Mom thinks it is because they are VERY loud! Maybe with calmer ones I'd do better. Mom tells me not to bark at the neighbors, and I try, but sometimes I still do.
When my humans are gone I go in the kennel. I used to be VERY quiet, but as I become more at home I like to let them know I want to get the heck out of there! When I got sick, my foster parents let me start sleeping in their bed so they could keep a close eye on me - and you know what? Now I just sleep in there all the time!
I'm potty trained on a schedule, and will sleep through the night, but I do NOT like the rain! When it rains I sometimes potty in the garage :(
Now that I'm well and have learned how to be a dog, all that's missing is my forever home! Maybe it's yours!
