Lily is a one of a kind little girl. She truly is the sweetest girl I've ever fostered. She weighs around 35 pounds, is roughly 7 years old, and adores her "person" more than anything in the entire world. If you're looking for your shadow, meet Lily--she will follow you everywhere! She is house trained, loves people all ages and gets along with mostly everything - kids, cats, chickens, etc. She does like her own space around other high-energy dogs as they make her nervous, but may do well with another mellow dog that can teach her confidence and respect her space. Or, ideally, she would be a fantastic only dog as she LOVES, LOVES all the attention. She is calm and will sit for hours to be just petted. She loves to snuggle, go on walks and ride in the car. She sits very patiently in the back seat and walks well on the leash. Lily can go in a crate when left alone, but she roams free in her foster home when her foster parents are gone because she's such a good girl and patiently waits for them to get home. Who would have thought that a stray dog found under a shed with her puppies could turn out to be the perfect companion?
Lily does have kidney disease, but is being managed very well with special kidney care diet and is doing very well with that. Her lifespan may be shorter than other dogs, but so far there are no other signs other than her drinking a lot of water. Otherwise, she is such a sweet girl and has a voracious appetite.
Lily is looking for a special home that can guide her through her kidney disease with love and compassion. She will eventually deteriorate as the disease progresses, but with the right home, she will live the best and longest life possible.
