Sally, o r as we have come to call her, Sassy Sally took a couple of days to warm up to us. When she arrived she was scared of the stairs, did not know what toys were, and had a few accidents in the house. Sally has only had one accident in the house in the last two days now, she is learning VERY quickly! She picked up on the word "no" in a matter of hours and we taught her how to "shake" in 5 minutes! She has also been picking up on "fetch" and "drop it". She is bashful at first but when warmed up she is a puppy with a lot of energy to burn! She took to her crate nicely the first two nights but after that tore up everything in the crate, so until she gets older and less rambunctious she would need to be crated without a dog bed or anything she could rip apart. Instead, we have since confined her to our entryway which is all hardwood floor and she has had no accidents and doesn't chew on anything other than her toys! She is a CHEWER! We had to take away all fluffy toys and replace them with chew toys. She is a bit mouthy but that is expected with a puppy. She has since learned that when we say "ouch" it means she needs to stop mouthing us.Sally LOVES the water, she has not been to a lake but it is difficult to get her out of a pool during a warm day. We have walked her on a leash and with guidance she is a breeze to walk. Sally will pull if you allow her to but with correction walks right along side of you. Sally would also be a great running partner, although she LOVES a good nap as well and will lay around with her foster family for hours at a time. We brought her to the dog park and played a little but really wasn't interested in the other dogs. It was all about the smells. Although Sally doesn't like the car much, she gets anxious because she hasn't had much experience with car rides, if she were to slowly be introduced to the car in short intervals, she would get over that fear. She can also be a bit of a beggar and a counter surfer (we are working on that). Overall, she has a lot of personality, a very expressive face, and so cuddly. She just needed someone to show her the rules of a household. Sally is going to make a wonderful addition to a family.
