Hi, I’m Tess and I just moved to my new foster home, the next step on the journey to my forever home. My Foster Mom says her heart just melted when she met me (what a drama queen!). She said it’s because I’m 15 pounds of smart, snuggly sweetness. Guilty!

First Impressions…

Tess’ first day was filled with checking things out, a little bit of play, and a few short walks. She’s very easy going; lets you touch her paws or take a treat/toy away, no protecting. Tess is house trained, and kennel trained and settles down quickly.

Tess is not needy; however, if a lap is available, she’s happy to take advantage of it. As she’s warmed up, she is also happy playing with toys on her own or curling up on the couch by herself for a nap. She understands there are rules and a verbal correction is enough to set her on the right path.

She’s good in the car, settles down right away. Knows sit, stay; working on come and back. Treat driven, but sometimes she just doesn’t see the need to do what’s been asked.

As Obi-Wan Kenobi should have said, “The prey drive is strong in this one.” Squirrels, chipmunks, and birds get all her attention on walks. She seems to be able to see or hear them a good two minutes before you see them! So while good on the leash when no distractions, the sight of other animals gets her going.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $450.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
