Hot Diggity Dog – Diggie the pup

Ok, I’ve only had Diggie/Harlo for a few days but he is the best pup I’ve ever fostered. (I might be biased as I love a black and tan pup.) He is approx 1 year old, 37 lbs and is a beagle/shep mix.

Sadly, his first adoptive family could not keep him due to allergies in the household, but they loved him so much and did a wonderful job raising him from a pup. Note: I am allergic to cats and very rarely dogs. I’ve had no reaction to Diggie.

Diggie is very well trained – sits, shakes, lies down, rolls over. On just the second day, he rang the bells hanging on the back door to be let out! No accidents in house.

Very smart, very fun; he likes to play with a variety of toys. He’s done quite the job on his Kong! (Be sure to get the black extra strength Kong for him.) He’s still getting used to his new home, exploring every nook and cranny. Loves to give kisses and is a snuggler who loves a good tummy rub.

Diggie slept through the first night with little fuss. He was in the bedroom, uncrated, but curled up and went to sleep at light’s out. I haven’t left the house yet, so unsure how he will be in crate while left alone but we will start with very short absences to see how it goes.

He’s been crated while in the car and settles right down. Not sure if he’s met any cats yet. His first family had two older children; unsure how he is with smaller kidlets, but aside from some puppy exuberance don’t think there would be an issue.

Will update as Diggie gets more used to his surroundings and settles in. In a few days he’ll meet and play with other dogs in my family, which I expect will go well as they are all good pups who just want to run and play. He misses his family very much, but even so has a very good temperament and playful attitude that he just can’t hide.

I’m sure he will make some family a wonderful companion and best friend.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $550.00
