Meet Kobe! Kobe is a 7 m/o, neutered, Boxer-Doxie mix. What a handsome pup he is with his dark/brindle coat and muscular little body. He's your typical big dog in a small package. Which makes him the perfect size! No telling how big he is going to get but he has been growing and thriving, providing plenty of love and laughs in our home during this strange time. He's completely moved into our hearts and we just know he will do the same with his own forever family. Kobe is loving his new role as lap dog, along with belly rubs, squeaky toys, chuck-it, walking on leash, running zoomies in the back yard, and, of course, TREATS! When Kobe first came into rescue, he had some seizures. He was medicated and monitored for a while. Neurological testing could not confirm a cause, but Kobe has been off those meds for about a month and has remained seizure free. Best guess is that it could have been caused by the oral flea medication that he received upon arrival, this being said he should be given topical from now on.

Kobe is a smart dog and seems willing to want to please his humans with or without treats. But, an ideal family for Kobe should be patient and knowledgeable enough to help him through this puppy learning curve - he currently likes to mouth things, so he is working on that. Kobe hasn't barked at the neighbors in their yards on the other side of the fence is comfortable at the vet – other than that, like all of us, he has been somewhat isolated. Kobe will to go into the kennel on his own with a treat in my hand and I say "kennel up." He doesn't make a fuss when I put him in for the night and stays quiet all night long. Kobe is learning that when he rings the bell, the patio door gets opened and he can go outside. Kobe is an adorable little lover of a pup. He is smart, courageous, affectionate and silly. It has been so much fun playing with him and watching his personality come out, but now it’s time for his forever home – maybe it’s yours?
