Meet Winnie!
Have you ever wondered what it would look like if you crossed a yellow Lab with a Chihuahua? That is probably the best way to describe what Winnie looks like. We don’t know her exact breed, but we do know she is absolutely adorable! Her soulful eyes draw you in and she has natural eyeliner any girl would die for. Winnie looks like she probably had it pretty rough before coming into rescue, but she is settling in well and enjoying the “good life” indoors. When we take her outside she immediately goes potty and we have not had any accidents in the house. Winnie likes to explore the yard and lay out in the sun. She enjoys being outdoors and walks well on a leash. Winnie has done well with our resident dog that can be a little too exuberant at times. If she has had enough she just does a little side-eye and growl, and our dog will then walk away. I’m not sure Winnie has had any experience with cats, but she completely ignores our four. If they go up to her she will sniff them, but that is about the extent of their interaction. She is by far the quietest dog I’ve ever cared for. We haven’t had her that long, but she has only barked a couple times. She is timid, but bonded to me quite quickly. She is still leery of men, but she is becoming more relaxed around my husband, so I think she’ll get over it once she is settled into her new home. She will likely do best in a quiet home, with a little patience. Winnie loves to cuddle and get hugs. She curls up right beside you on the couch and will put her head
on your lap. She is a sucker for head scratches and belly rubs, and if you even think about stopping, she will paw at you to please continue. She doesn’t appear to have ever had toys, so she is still learning how to have fun. She is a bright girl, so I think she’ll catch on to commands fairly quickly, we’ve just been focusing on letting her decompress and get used to life in a house the little time we’ve had her. Winnie goes in a crate at night and will walk right in when you tell her to. I’m guessing she’d love to sleep with her people in bed, but be prepared for snoring--I find myself wanting to call her Piglet instead of Winnie because of her cute little snort!
Winnie is truly a sweetheart and will make a wonderful companion for some lucky adopter. One day and you’ll be head over heels for this special little lady!

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $495.00
