My name is Lola, and I am a young shih tzu!  I was rescued from a hoarding situation in South Dakota. When I came into rescue I hadn’t ever had a haircut!  I had lots of mats and ticks and I was very afraid.  But I did lick my foster mom’s hand when she got close to me.  

I was very fortunate in that the beauty parlor came to me, and I got a really great haircut after a couple of days.  I became my beautiful self!  

Here’s my deets:

I am about 9 months old.  I am very friendly!  I like people and kids once I know they will be kind to me.  I’m not a super fan of the resident dog, but if the dog leaves me alone, then I leave her alone.  I don’t know anything about cats yet.  My foster parents haven’t taken me on any walks yet- we’re still working on getting used to normal life.  I do just fine in the car.

I have been sleeping in a crate at night - the first night I cried a lot, but now I know that my foster parents will come get me in the morning, so I don’t fuss when I go to bed.  I am working on housebreaking… I still have occasional accidents, but I’m getting good at potting outside.

More than anything, I just want to snuggle and be loved.  I love my foster dad most of all and I love to sit on his lap while he works.
