Here’s Charlie (AKA Loren)….a beautiful Min Pin mix with hazel eyes! He is 14 pounds and 5 months old. Charlie is nearly house trained and does very well on a consistent schedule (outside every 2 hours). He has not learned how to ‘tell’ you when he needs to go out yet, so keeping him on a regular potty schedule is best. He does make it through the night without any accidents and knows it’s time for bed when lights turn out. He sleeps/cuddles in the bed with his foster parents. Charlie eats 3 times a day when his humans eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has lots of puppy treats throughout the day. He’s the typical high energy adolescent pup that will need to find a home willing to give him the exercise he needs and work with him on training. He is currently learning by reward training and knows how to sit, lie down, leave it, drop it, and come (most of the time). He’s working on “off’ (not jumping up), “Heal” (on walks), “Stay”, and mouthing (not biting). He is food motivated and very smart, which will help in his training. Charlie always wants to be where you are and will need to learn separation is okay, as he does seem to suffer from some anxiety. He will go in a crate with a treat, but cries. His foster parents think he would do well in a home where his human(s) are home most of the time or in a home with another dog so he will never feel left behind. He likes to go for car rides when he can sit on someone's lap or in the seat next to them. When traveling in a vehicle in a crate he will cry. Charlie enjoys walks, especially going to parks with trails, and is a fantastic tracker. Although, you do need to keep a constant eye on him as he is still young and picks up and often attempts to eat things. He usually walks very nice on the leash, but is working on not pulling when he gets excited. For Charlie there is always something new and exciting to see (chasing leaves, grasshoppers, birds, etc.). Playing fetch is his favorite game and he will bring you back any toy you throw for him.  Charlie’s former owner said he loved other dogs and played with dogs of all sizes at puppy class. He has not had the opportunity to meet a cat, so it is uncertain how he would do with one. He cowers when putting on his leash (fine once it’s on) and is timid when first meeting new people, but warms up after a little bit.  Charlie is an overall very good puppy who is excited to find a stable and forever home. He has lots of love to give and needs a family he can build trust with and assure him they will never abandon him. A home without small children would be best as he is in the puppy teething stage and mouthing quite a bit, but has never chewed/destroyed anything in his fosters home.
