After a tough start, mighty little Zeus is coming into his own! We think born in July of 2015, and he weighs 4.5 pounds. He’s a little shy until he warms up to you; seems to prefer women to men; however, men bringing him treats seem to be ok!

 

Loves to be outside. Even though he has a bum rear leg, it doesn’t seem to limit him at all. Zeus goes on two 30-45 min. walks a day.  While distance traveled doesn’t have to be far, the time spent sniffing, exploring, and watering hundreds of blades of grass is thoroughly enjoyed. He has done well meeting other dogs on walks, but not interested in really playing with them. Puppies tend to overwhelm him, and he puts them in their place. Cat/young children interactions, unknown.

 

He's a good eater and gets very excited at dinner times.  Doesn’t seem to be food aggressive, although he’s an only dog, so hard to know. I can put my hands in and around bowl while eating with no reaction. Working on sit, come, and wait.  He is in a small kennel when in the car and while not too crazy about it at first, he does settle down after a few minutes. (After trying a variety of music stations, it appears he is a Willie Nelson fan. When Willie starts howling, Zeus stops!)

 

So far he’s been hit and miss on barking or growling. Lots of dogs and people walk past the house on their way to a nearby park. He makes no noise while most go by, then something about one or two of them will set him off.

 

He’s taken outside every 2-3 hours and has not had an accident in the house in the past two weeks and he goes all night with no accidents. At night his bed is in a gated main floor laundry room, and he settles right away. A kennel is in there with door open, but Zeus prefers his fluffy bed. He’s gradually getting more and more access to different parts of the house and it is all going well.

 

Zeus also loves laps, liver bits, tummy scritches, and furry squeaky toys. Please consider Zeus for adoption. He’s a resilient, darling pup who deserves the very best in life.
