Zoey is a very sweet puppy who loves to snuggle any living being that will have her. She isn’t a big fan of the kennel because then she can’t be close to her people and her foster sisters, but she sleeps in there at night and goes in when the people are gone. She has no problem going into the kennel on command (but does expect a good treat when she does this) but will sometimes whimper a little bit in the beginning or howl when she hears me getting home. She is very playful but knows when to leave the other dogs alone. She is learning all about walking on a leash, she doesn't typically pull and is just working on learning basic leash manners, she is trying really hard to learn "heal". She will make a great running buddy when she is old enough, we've done a few short running intervals and she did amazing. She has met a couple of small children and did very well with them, aside from wanting to steal their food, and is VERY interested in babies. She is doing okay with the kitten we have in the house, but can be a little rough (the kitten loves her though and always comes back for more. I haven't seen her around adult cats yet. She seems to understand “no” pretty well and is great at “sit”, "no" and "leave it". She is learning "down", but still needs to be shown with a hand and a treat before she remembers what to do. Potty training is going great, with a little confusion when she gets on carpet (our house is mostly hard wood), she is down to about 1 accident a week, if that. She is a very curious puppy and likes to check out things she doesn’t understand, and investigate loud noises. She seems that she will be a pretty protective dog, as she has barked when new people approach and likes to stand in front of the big dogs when she sees new things and people. When you tell her to quiet down, she typically does so, she will still bark, but quieter and look at you to see if that is okay. She is very eager to please and extremely food motivated. Although she is eager to please, she does sometimes try to ignore us and do what she wants, she will need a strong leader that will follow through with commands and not let her run the house. She would likely do best in a house with a lot of activity, as she is high energy, and another dog.
