Hi there! My name is Roper! I am the sweetest dog around! I am a bit timid but I love people! I shake a little when I do meet new people but my tail wags the whole time. My foster mom didn’t know a ton about me, other than I liked to chase chickens too much. I guard my yard from all birds! I get along very well with a cute neighbor cat that comes to visit. I am very sweet to the 3 year old human who lives in the house. I still don’t care when he sticks his face in mine but he does give the best pets and belly rubs. It did take me a while to get used to my new home. I still don’t eat a whole lot and when I do it’s on the couch next to my family. I walk very nice on a leash. I LOVE being outside! I lay and smell the air and have a smile on my face that you can see. I listen very well and don’t wander far. I want to be right by your side. It took me a while to feel comfortable peeing in front of people. I needed my space so a small leash wasn’t doing the trick. I sleep pretty well in the kennel. I would much rather be with my people but right next to their bed has been enough. I may sigh loudly to wake you up at 2:00am. It’s not because I have to go potty, but to say hi and that I love you! I haven’t played with any toys yet. I’m still trying to figure out if it’s a comfort thing or maybe I’ve never played with toys before. It could also be that I’m a huge couch potato and I’d rather sleep than play. I do like dogs but I shake like crazy when I see them. I think it’s because I’m excited and not scared. Each dog may be different though.
