Ernest is a heeler/border collie mix born approximately 4/25/20. He is an energetic puppy who loves cuddles, face rubs, and rolling in the grass. He is incredibly affectionate and his eyes always light up with joy whenever he sees his person- even if they only disappeared around the corner for a second! When Ernest is happy he shows it with his entire body by wiggling, wagging his tail, and tapping his feet. He adores hugs, cuddles, and especially belly rubs. He is very good about chewing on his toys and bones, but like any puppy, sometimes needs to be reminded about what he’s allowed to chew on. Ernest will fit in best somewhere where there is a yard to run and a family willing to give him tons of walks and exercise. He wakes up ready to face the world at full speed! He has also done great with my resident dog and would love to make more doggy friends. He loves to play chase, tug of war, and wrestle with my dog. Ernest is also very smart and food motivated. He will enthusiastically try to do whatever it takes for a treat!

When it comes to new things and places, Ernest can be a little shy at first. Doorways, stairs, and loud noises can be a bit intimidating. He is also a little afraid of being grabbed. If you take new experiences at his pace and give him words of encouragement and some treats he learns and opens up very quickly. We are also working diligently on potty training. He has gotten really good about going outside when encouraged. If he is in the house and a puppy pad is available, he is very reliable about using the pad. He can make it through the entire night without needing a potty break! Ernest is pretty good about being kenneled. With a treat he will always walk right into the kennel on his own. At night he settles down to sleep in his kennel very quickly.

This intelligent and energetic puppy will make an excellent addition to any family that can give him the love and exercise that he needs. 

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:$595.00
