Riley is a maltese mix who was born approximately 7/2016 and it 10 pounds. Riley is an adorable dog with big brown eyes who is hungry for love and attention. He’s learning to sit but lacks other basic commands. By no means does that mean he’s uncontrollable because he responds immediately to “Riley” when called. His first days he marked everything indoors and outdoors, and didn’t realize pooping is only done outside. So he was confined to his cage when alone and at night. These behaviors have subsided with regular outside potty breaks and as he’s become more comfortable in his foster home. He now has earned the privilege to sleep on the bed at night and to roam free inside when alone for short periods of time. He does/did escape a short height fence plenty of times; he’s very slim and slipped through the fence slats surprisingly with ease. It appears his enticement to escape is his need to meet dogs or people outside the fence. He’s not mean nor does he bite, just curious what’s going on. He does have a deep and loud warning bark but will quiet immediately when told to stop. It should be noted that he gives a mild warning growl when the foster puppy wants to take his treats. He allows her to walk all over him (in the way puppies are known to do) but, please, leave his food alone. His one fear is loud noises, the “clicker” noise (training aid) is very traumatic to him.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, dental, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: 625.00
