Hi, I’m Maggie, a 3-year old husky mix. My sister, Everest, and I are best friends. Our family had to move and couldn’t take us with them, so we came to Minnesota together to find a new family. I am fairly timid, but super sweet and loving. I often look to my sister Everest for reassurance. My foster mom says I can be stubborn, but that’s just because I like to do things on my own time table. I’m working hard to learn some commands. I’m also learning how to walk on a leash without pulling, but there are just so many new smells that I must investigate. I am house-trained – no accidents in the house! However, I don’t have a signal to tell my people when I have to go potty. I just go out whenever my sister does and that seems to work for me. I am pretty quiet, but when I do bark, it is because I see another dog outside or because my sister has alerted me that there is something to bark at. I get really scared during storms and will stick very close to my people if I hear thunder. I’m not a fan of my crate, but I will go in if bribed with enough treats. I usually sleep on the couch downstairs, cuddled up with my sister, or on a pile of blankets in one of the bedrooms. I very recently discovered that my foster parents’ bed is super comfy, too. I’m not quite sure what to do with toys. I would much rather chew on a bone, have a cuddle, or lay outside in my yard while keeping watch over the neighborhood. Sometimes my sister and I like to wrestle or just kiss each other’s face. My favorite thing in the whole world is belly rubs! I am friendly with people, especially if they want to give me belly rubs or ear scratches. I’m very free with kisses. I get so excited when I see my people that my whole back end wiggles. I am ok meeting other dogs – in short intervals. My foster mom says I am one of the sweetest girls she has ever met. I’m looking for a family that will appreciate how much love I have to give and keep my sister and me together.
