Reese, aka “Reesie Piecie, sugar butt, sweet lady, lil’ mama, muffin, etc...”, is the sweetest little lady you will ever meet. It took her only a few minutes to bond with us, and within a day began following us around the house and staring at us every time we move a muscle. Especially while watching tv, Reese loves to snuggle up real close and be touching. Sometimes, she even burrows herself under the blankets to make herself a snuggly, warm cave.

Speaking of blankets, Reese has a particular liking for all of our sherpa blankets. She has one for the bed, couch, and her kennel with which she likes to wrap herself up in. While she’s in the kennel, she is extremely well behaved. She might cry for a few seconds, but quickly settles in and falls asleep until it’s time to go out in the morning. Because she is such a hard sleeper, the nighttime is where she is in her happy place.

Her other happy place is on a walk. Don’t let her small size fool you, this girl loves a long walk! She has a super cute, 5 minute long stretching routine and she’s off to the races. She is excellent on her leash and never pulls. She also makes good use of her time outside and uses the bathroom to the fullest potential (in other words, she goes number 1 and number 2). So far we have never had an accident in the house. On our walks she has met quite a few dogs and has been nervous with all of them, especially energetic dogs that try and initiate play. She usually just ignores the dogs who try to say “hi”, but she gets scared if they get too close.

With each day, Reese gets more comfortable playing with toys and vocalizing her happiness. Though the usual “sit, stay, shake, lay down, etc.” commands are not in her repertory, she is a pro at playing fetch. She plays favorites with her llama toy. When learning new commands or training on what she knows, she is not particularly treat motivated. Instead, she prefers verbal affirmations and petting (especially behind her ears). She has never viewed human food as treats, either. In fact, she ignores our plates while we are eating; she just wants us to hurry up and finish our meals so we can snuggle with her more.

Reese is going to make her future owners so happy and feel so loved. She is loyal to the people she loves and spreads joy to every stranger she meets. Because she loves so intensely, she has a lot of separation anxiety whenever we leave the house. She is looking for an owner who can give her lots of love, attention, and can play with her in between naps. Sweetie Reese knows how to steal your heart away and hang on to it for safe keeping. She is an ideal dog for anyone who can relate to her love languages: play time, lots of affirmation, tons of snuggle time, and a friendship rooted in love and trust.
