Hi, I’m Everest, a 3-year old husky mix. My sister, Maggie, and I are best friends. Our family had to move and couldn’t take us with them, so we came to Minnesota together to find a new family. It’s my job to look after my sister Maggie and I frequently check in to make sure she’s doing ok. I’m working hard to learn some commands. I’m also learning how to walk on a leash without pulling, but there are so many exciting things to investigate in the neighborhood. However, if I notice my sister isn’t keeping up on a walk, I will turn around to get her or will wait for her. I am house trained – no accidents in the house. I bark by the door if I need to go out. I also bark if I am bored and want to play, or if I see another dog out the window. I get nervous during storms and will stick very close to my people if I hear thunder. I’m learning to accept my crate and sometimes will go into it on my own. I usually sleep on the couch downstairs or cuddled up with my sister. I recently discovered that my foster parents’ bed is super comfy and have been giving it a try at night. I’m not very interested in toys…at least not squeaky toys. I do love a good athletic shoe or slipper if a bone or dental chew isn’t available. Now my foster mom keeps all footwear in the closet where I can’t get them. I like to play wrestle with my sister whenever I can convince her to play. I really enjoy cuddling with my people or laying outside in my yard. I am friendly with people and want lots of attention. I will show my appreciation with kisses and enthusiastic tail wags. I am ok meeting other dogs, but small puppies make me nervous. My foster mom says I am very sweet and lovable. She calls me her cuddle bug. I’m looking for a family that will appreciate my playfulness and keep my sister and me together.
