Hi, my name is Bella (my name was Bekah as a puppy but was changed to Bella). I'm 1 year old and around 63 lbs. I'm fully potty trained and really good about going outside to go potty. I'm also
crate trained and 'kennel' on request. My foster mom says I'm very well behaved in her kennel. They like to leave me out as much as possible to be with the rest of the humans but I have the option to go in if I want to.
I live with an older dog and a cat right now. They think I like to play too much and have a little too much energy for them. My foster parents keep an eye on me to make sure I'm not annoying them too much. Other than that I am amazing with other dogs. I love to play and would love to have another dog to play with or have pup play dates:)
I LOVE
homemade pup-cups(pumpkin and non-sweetened coconut yogurt, frozen) and Ben and Jerry's Dog Ice Cream. I also like treats.
My foster mom says I walk okay on a leash. I have a tendency to drift in front of them when they give me full run of her leash so they are keeping me on their left side without too much slack for training purposes.
I really like care rides too but haven't been on any long trips yet.
From Bella's foster mom:
She is very calm in the kennel. She loves her toys and will carry them around with her trying to get someone to play with her. She loves attention. She will go lay down if she is told. We bought her a bunch of new toys and she LOVES everyone of them! She LOVES the tennis court! The fencing is very high and very safe for her, so she can run like the wind without fear of her getting loose. She loves to play fetch with our dog at the court.
Toys! She have never met a toy that she doesn't like! The noisier, the better!
My husband works from home, so she really isn't left alone. We have purposely ran errands, to keep her from being dependent on someone always being here. We cover her kennel at night, and she doesn't make a sound. She sleeps in our living room with our dog and cat on the couch near her. We always kennel her for her safety and our cat and dog's safety whenever we are outside.
She has great recall and stays by us most the time, but have found recently that she needs to have a fully fenced in yard as she likes to have the zoomies in the yard, but also likes to run across the street to meet new friends, not knowing the danger of the road. Unfortunately her great recall slipped when distracted by new friends!
She is amazing with children and super gentle. She has met children as young as toddlers and did great with them.
Our family agrees that Bella would make an amazing therapy dog. She is so gentle, doesn't want to crawl up onto furniture, instead she will put her head on the sofa or your leg. I could see Bella at the airport as a therapy dog, or visiting children or seniors in a hospital or senior care settling, as she is such a ray of sunshine and has such a great disposition.
Today, I am home sick and she has brought me various toys to my bedside, or just coming in to check up on me. She is such a ray of sunshine! She is a very smart and caring dog. She'd love to meet you!
