“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” Quote by Josh Billings | ||||

Paisley is a super happy, curious puppy! She's was born approximately 6/13/20 and came from a reservation in South Dakota. She plays well independently, also loves to meet new dogs and play with them, too. Our resident dogs are a little 'rough and tumble' when they play, Paisley has no problem keeping-up with them and wanting to join right in! (She's quick to get out of the way, as well.) She has learned that one of our resident dogs enjoys playing with her more than the other, which I thought was pretty smart for her, as a puppy, to pick-up on. Whether barreling around the yard or bounding in-place, Paisley is up for it! Upon arrival to the rescue, Paisley was lying on her back, stretched-out in her kennel. It was so cute and funny! She has the cutest ears (sometimes one will 'sit' on top of her head) and the most expressive eyes. She definitely stood-out. When she sleeps she moves quite a bit until she finds just that perfect spot to settle-in. She's out with us when we're watching TV, etc., likes to come up on the sofa to nap. She'll watch where you are, ensuring she can see you. She'll come put her front paws on the sofa, giving a little cry indicating she wants to join! She stays more on her own, though close to you, rather than being on your lap. At night Paisley sleeps in her kennel. She may cry a little bit at first, but quickly quiets down. During the night she may whine a couple times and we usually do bring her outside, otherwise an accident is likely. When we come back in we put her in her kennel and she falls back asleep quickly. In the mornings she's typically found chewing toys on the dog bed and running around, playing with the resident dogs. She'll then take her 'morning nap' at my feet. During the day Paisley will either be in her kennel for 1-2 hours at a time, or with me in the office. She loves to sit at/on my feet/slippers and snooze while I work the day away. (I call her the #1 Employee / Employee of the Month!) She watches closely what our resident dogs do and models their behaviors. She's copied our dogs sun tanning on the deck, lounging on a bench watching the yard, and sitting next to the garden waiting to receive raspberries (also has watched our Lab roll around in the lawn, which she has now done a couple times). She does know 'sit' and we're working on additional commands. We had a 3-hour car ride recently, she rode in her kennel and didn't make much of a peep. Paisley loves to play with toys! She has Nylabones (from our resident dogs) that she'll determinedly chomp away at, squeaky balls, plush toys and more - she loves them all! She's learning to retrieve a toy when you throw it down a hallway or outside and occasionally will drop it for you when she returns. She's been known to find a stick in the yard and run like the wind with it in her mouth before throwing herself down to chew it. She wants to explore the environment around her, doing so somewhat fearlessly. She listens fairly well to 'here' when you want her to come back. Overall, Paisley is a happy, healthy puppy that's full of life and is looking for her forever family to keep growing and learning with!
