Hi!  I'm Benita...a petite playful lab mix.  I was presumably dumped at a rest stop in South Dakota looking pretty skinny, but it has turned out to be a good thing.  I was placed with a foster who is ensuring I won't have to go hungry anymore!

I have the sweetest spirit and am always happy.  I love to give gentle snurfles and smell your face and hair.  I get very excited to eat, but I have learned if I sit still calmly (for a second ;0)...I will get my bowl of food.  I'm a bit of a counter surfer, but because I'm so small I haven't been successful.  My lower jaw is a bit smaller than my upper jaw...they think it's a birth defect but we will find out more when I visit the vet.  It doesn't slow me down...I love to eat!  I'm just a little dribbly when I drink water.  But one look from my sweet brown eyes makes my problem very forgivable.  I have had 0 accidents in my foster home!  I am the smartest girl..and it helps that I get love and treats every time I go outside.  I figured out "the door" to go out very quickly, so anytime I look out the door we go out for a potty break adventure.

Benita would truly fit in any home.  She is definitely interested in our cat, but also has a healthy respect for his space.  She loves, loves, loves to be with her people, preferably snuggling next to us at all times.  She is kenneled for periods of the day, and at night and does great.  Although if she had her way, I'm sure she'd prefer to sleep in someone's bed.  She's very food motivated, so keeping pantries closed and garbage cans behind doors is a must.  But as she is getting used to regular feedings, I feel like she is less focused on browsing for snacks.  She does pretty good on leash, but you have to hold tight as squirrels are SUPER interesting.  Because she loves her treats so much, training should be a breeze.  She is smart and does sit and down already.  She is the sweetest, happiest little dog who's tail is always going.  She'll be a great addition to any loving home.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, dental, mandible/palate repair, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $475.00
