Hi.  My Name is Garbo.  They tell me I'm named after Greta Garbo.  I've come a long way in the short time I have been at my foster home.  The first full day I was here was quite the adventure.  My foster mom put me in the outdoor kennel to feed me because I'm very protective of my food.  She went inside for only 5 short minutes and I managed to escape.  I climbed over the 8 foot fence and went into the pasture, which is right next to the house, and found some really nice smelly stuff to roll in.  I didn't know my name at the time but I came running when I heard my foster mom's voice.  I ended up with 2 baths that day!  When I first arrived I didn't want to go into the house but now I love being inside with my people and Stella the resident dog.  The resident dog is nice and we get along except if she goes by my food.  I'm still kind of protective of it.  I get very excited when it is feeding time and you would think I would gobble it down but I'm kind of a picky eater and only eat a little bit at a time.  I like to sneak and eat out of the resident dog's food dish if she doesn't finish her food. :)  They also have cats where I live.  They are mainly outside.  I sometimes get excited when I see them and try to play with them but they usually don't want to so I leave them be.  I know my name now but still working on the basic commands. I know what come means but I'm kind of stubborn and take my time responding to it sometimes.   I'm pretty good on the leash; I don't know how to heal yet but I very rarely pull unless I get excited or I'm startled.  I even got to go on a hike at Willow River State Park. I liked walking on the trails, going through the woods, climbing on rocks, and finding the water!  I haven't put my paws up on the table or counter in at least a week! I'm not jumping on people as much either but when I do jump up I'm very gentle and just want some attention.  I'm very affectionate and love to be petted and they tell me my coat is very soft.   I have had a few accidents in the house since arriving here but I'm getting better at letting my family know when I have to go out and they are getting better at learning my signs. I don't really play with toys - they are trying to entice me with them but I just pick them up and drop them - but I haven't chewed anything either!  There are no little kids where I live now but all the other people that I have met I have been really good with.  I very rarely bark but I do whine sometimes to get your attention.  I am also starting to enjoy car rides.
