Hello my name is Pearl, because I’m a hidden gem of course! I am a 8 year old 48lb Husky who came to NDLB as a breeder release. I am super sweet, housetrained, and I do well during car rides. Before that I didn’t have much exposure to people or other dogs so I can be a little shy around strangers.

Being shy doesn’t mean I am an introvert. I love to explore and go new places. I really like going for walks. There are so many interesting things to jump at and chase that I sometimes forget that I’m attached to a person who is boring and only wants to walk on trails and sidewalks.

People say huskies are high energy but I am really just excited to be around my people. I am just as happy napping at your feet, being cuddled, or brushed as I am running around the yard chasing squirrels. That’s saying something because I really like chasing squirrels, rabbits, and anything else that’s small and furry. I haven’t caught any of them yet but I did get my jaws into a stuffed animal. That was a ton of fun for the several seconds it took to de-stuff it and redecorate the living room. By the way if you have any cats you don’t need, I would be happy de-stuff them for you. My foster parents keep telling me that cats are family not food but with your help, history will prove them wrong. (Seriously though cannot go to a family with cats or other small critters)

I like big furry things like dogs too, as long as they stay away from my food and my toys. I will go in my crate willingly but being left alone makes me want to cry. Do you mind if I stay with you, just until forever?
