“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” Quote by Josh Billings | ||||

Hi! My name is Allie and I recently made the journey to Minnesota from Kentucky. In Kentucky I darted through a door and was on the run for quite some time! Here in Minnesota my foster Mom is working with me on some training to prevent that from happening again and I'm learning quick! I act like a classic terrier most of the time, I'm a wild child one moment and passed out the next. I absolutely love to run and play with other dogs and toys. I also love to be outside and run around the fenced in yard and go on walks. I walk well on a leash and don't pull much but I do like to stop and sniff everything. Sometimes I don't quite know my size or proper doggie etiquette. I'm still working on not jumping on everything, but right now I jump on people, counters, doors and tables. I'm a bit of a goof ball and run into things like a bull in a china shop sometimes. I'm working on doggie manners and have learned sit as long as you have some treats handy. I'm still learning what off and down mean and coming when you call me although I do respond well to my name. Right now I think come is a fun a game of chase where I run the other way, but I might be wrong about that one. I play with bones and stuffed toys nicely and don't try to destroy them or guard them and I'm learning to play fetch with balls. I don't chew on shoes or other things I shouldn't except I like to chew the wood baby gate and wood patio chairs, not sure why that's not okay yet, it seems like a bone to me. I get along great with other dogs as long as they can handle my rambunctiousness, but I back off quick if they give me a warning. My foster mom doesn't have any kids or cats, but I might not be a good fit for small kids or cats because I like to jump on people and play chase. I'd probably do fine with older kids I can't knock down. I'm sure I can eventually learn to enjoy both, but that will take some time and a patient trainer, I am a bit of a stubborn terrier after all. I'd probably do best in a home that is looking for a constant companion or an adventure buddy. I like to know where my people are and I follow them around or hang out on the furniture in the room they are in. I love to lay on the couch and look out the window. I probably wouldn't be very happy in a house where dogs aren't allowed on the furniture. I'll snuggle on the couch with you and watch TV too. I'm a little shy around men at first, but I warm up quick. I'm pretty energetic and would love a home with another dog my size or even bigger that wants to play with me and keep me company and a fenced in yard to burn off some energy. I am crate trained but protest a little bit at first if you're leaving the house, I do just fine in there at night. I don't destroy anything in there, I just howl a bit but I will quiet down if you tell me to. I'm pretty quiet in general most of the time, but will bark if I'm feeling left out. I am housebroken and can hold it all day or night without any issue. I ride well in the car in a crate. Are you my perfect match?
