Hi, my name is Kassie and I'm a terrier mix from Kentucky born approx 2/2020. My foster parents like to call me Miss Muppet. I have a lot of spunk, a big mischievous streak, and love to play and wrestle with my foster brother. I am still working on my potty training since I used to be an outdoor dog and don't quite know what to do. I am learning to use potty bells to signal my need to go outside. You may have to continue to work with me on my potty training, but I am trying and have been pretty successful on a schedule.

I will do well with other dogs and kids, BUT NO CATS. You'll just have to remind me not to jump up on people. We've been working on it with my foster mom but I don't always remember. I also don't like being left alone! I have some separation anxiety and it takes me a while to calm down in my kennel when I'm put to bed. My foster mom gives me a treat in my kennel before bedtime to make things a little easier. I will bark and whine for a while until I finally decide to go to sleep, so I may not be the best match for someone who lives in an apartment. I will also bark and whine in my kennel when you leave. We're working on me enjoying my kennel more to make the transition a bit easier since not everyone will be home all the time like my foster mom is.

I also want to be near you and have plenty of attention. I'm not much of a cuddler, but I like being where you are whenever possible. Potentially laying on the top of your feet. I like chasing squirrels and being outside. You will need to keep all goodies away from the edge of the counter. I can't fully reach, but I'm definitely super curious and will stand up to see/get at what's there so definitely don't leave any food or used plates right by the edge. My foster mom is working with me on it and I haven't gotten anything yet, but just be aware. I may also try and chew on various things if I am left unsupervised since I'm still a puppy after all!

I may be wary of new people I meet outside on my leash and take some time to warm up to them. So don't be surprised if I bark at them or play the “get near, bark, and run away” game for a bit but still wag my tail. However, if they come into your house I'll like them right away! I also don't mind car rides, but I may bark at you to get your attention until you're petting me or I fall asleep.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:$595.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
