Hi! I’m Rosie and I’m a wonderful dog. I am fully housebroken and haven’t had any accidents in my foster home. I love playing with the little humans in this house (one is 6 and the other 11) they let me chase the ball and we play tug of war. One thing I especially love is getting belly rubs from people. I even do somersaults in a lap to get someone to keep rubbing me.

I don’t have to say in a kennel for more than a couple hours at a time during the day, and overnight. I’m not a huge fan of my kennel, but when my foster mom encourages me to go in, I slowly do, but sometimes I cry for a short time. I trust that I won’t have to stay in there long before it is safe for me to come out again. I get good sleep there and my foster parents don’t have to worry about me chewing up the blankets on the couches. I really like to chew on soft things like blankets, slippers, pillows, gloves-if it’s soft, and I can reach it, I will chew on it and rip it to shreds.

There is another foster dog with me, and I love to run with her. Sometimes she chases me, sometimes I chase her and we love to run super-fast around the backyard. I also love trying to chase the squirrels but I hate it when they get through the fence and I don’t fit. The squirrels always get my attention when I’m inside too; I have to be sure to let them know I see them by barking really loud and scratching at the back door. My foster mom tells me, “Thank you” and “Quiet!”

Fetch is not my favorite game, I’d rather just take the ball and keep it to myself to chew on for a while. When I choose a toy and start playing with it, the other foster dog loves to try and steal it and we start playing together to see who gets to keep it (I usually let her win). Everyone says I’m such a softie.

When I go for a walk, my nose keeps me busy! There are so many smells out there and I want to be sure to smell everything! My foster mom lets me sniff as much as possible, but eventually I start to pay attention to her and keep walking.

Car rides are ok – the fresh air blowing in my face is lovely! I like to watch out the windows and see all of the things fly by. There is so much action happening out there! Eventually though, it all begins to look the same and I curl up and take a nap until we get to where we’re going .

One thing that makes me nervous is when I first meet tall men, or guys with hats on. It just takes me a little while to trust that they are only going to pet me and give me belly rubs. Then I’m ok and feel comfortable again after a short time.
