Lucky is the family who is the right match for Luna. This one year old springer spaniel beauty is move-in ready and sweet as can be. It's a mystery how she ended up in rescue or how she broke her leg (no longer in a cast and it's hard to tell sometimes she was even injured) but here she is! The second the rescue handed her to me she jumped right into my car and into my heart. She was calm and relaxed and just lay there all the way home waiting to begin her next adventure. Luna is looking for a family to match her energy and keep up with her busy lifestyle. As she will tell you herself (she's very good at communicating) she's got walks to take, yards to explore and friends to play with. She is gentle and loves kids so the right family would have kids and/or another dog to help keep her entertained.

Luna has a great disposition and is very familiar with family life and communicating with humans. The very first night she was barking at the patio door to go out. Yes, she is housebroken but she also just likes to be outside, a lot. She already knew sit, lay down and shake. We are working on come. She's pretty good at down, she just forgets whether it be furniture or people she wants to meet and/or hug. She loves cuddling on the couch when she is invited and will roll over and give you the biggest, toothiest puppy smile you will ever see when you rub her belly. She will somewhat reluctantly kennel up, more willingly with a treat but either way will stay quiet all night. She actually likes napping in there during the day too. She's also pretty good at stay and didn't fight too much at bath time either. Once she understands what you want from her, she's pretty willing to give it to you.

However, that communication goes both ways and Luna definitely has her playtime and exercise requirements. She will let you know for sure. Barking at the back door not only means she needs to go potty. She loves hanging out back there whether she's just watching the birds and airplanes fly over, playing fetch or romping around with the neighbor dog. Luna would be very happy in a yard with a nice high fence but would also do well on a tie out as long as she gets a daily walk or two and has the opportunity to run every now and then. At my house when we go out the front door, we go on walks so I know when she's hanging out by the front door and giving me the single "woof" she's bored with the backyard and wants to see what the rest of the neighborhood is up to. So off we go (I can't resist those brown eyes) and she's great on the leash but it's kind of strange how she lunges at cars so please keep her safe. She also wants to meet just about every person and dog we pass but that's not difficult to manage either.

Luna is already a wonderful family pet! She's super sweet, gentle, fun, silly, lovable, socialized and well adjusted. She's learned the basics and is ready to learn so much more. Routine, something we don't have a lot of in my house these days, would serve her well as far as balancing playtime outside and exploring and knowing when she just needs to entertain herself inside and let the people do their people things.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00
