Hi, my name is Tabatha, but poppa calls me Tabby. I'm a 4-year old basset hound around 35 lbs. And boy do I ever have an adventure to share with you.

I was in rescue and got adopted a year or so back and we moved to California.  Then my family fell on hard times and surrendered me to a shelter out there.

Fortunately, my microchip still said NDLB and as soon as they found out they organized a jail break.  I spent a night with a friend of NDLB out there, then a nice man drove from his home in Arizona, to California and then to Minnesota.  We had a great time and became fast friends.  I spent most of it just sitting in the front seat, looking out the window or napping.  He said I was a good travel companion.

I used to be a little uncomfortable meeting new guys, but driver Jim and poppa have shown me guys are ok.  I love everyone I meet.  I live with another foster puppy.  Momma said I am his emotional support dog, because he was very timid before I arrived, and now he is happy and playful.  It’s nice having a roommate during the day when momma and poppa are at work. And it’s nice to know I could help him feel safe.  I’ve met a couple other dogs here also and we all get along well.  I heard a meow, but haven’t had the chance to meet the cat yet.  Evidently, she isn’t fond of dogs.

I love to go outside with my buddy and play in the snow.  Even though it is deeper than my legs are long, I still love jumping in it.  We also do the deed quickly when we go outside. And I don’t fuss when I have to be in my kennel all day for work.

I love meeting people, snuggling, getting belly rubs and ear scratches.  I do like to stand on my back legs to say hi and crawl around on momma and poppa when they lay down.

When we meet, poppa says you need to be careful, because if I put my little paw on your arm and look up at you, you will be twitterpated.  I’m not sure what it is, but it sounds terrible, so please be careful.

Poppa here.  Tabby is a total love bug and a joy to have with us.  She has only had 1 accident in the house.  That was a fluke because we were introducing several dogs and she was on a blanket on the floor where another dog had just peed.  So I feel we caused that one.  She sleeps in bed with us every night with no accidents, is good about going in her kennel and doesn’t tear up her bed or anything.  She gets along with all the dogs she has met.

To be frank, I can’t think of anything I would change about her. If we had space for another dog of our own, we would have adopted her already.

Adoption fee includes:  Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $550.00
