Hi! I’m Violet. My fur is so soft and that’s great because I love being pet and cuddled. I consider myself a lap dog. The more snuggles, the better! I melt like butter in your arms. I love to play but I need to assess situations from the safety of my crate, under a chair, or behind the counter before I decide to join in. I always decide to join in! My brother helps me feel secure and I don’t like being all alone, so I need to go to a home with another doggie friend or one where people are home all the time with me. I’ve met one other dog (55 lb) so far. I watched her for about an hour from my foster dad’s shoulders (sometimes I think I’m a cat) before I decided I’d like to sniff her. By the next morning, we were best friends! I am very smart. I learned “sit” and “come” quickly and am working on “down.” I’m also working on getting used to a leash/collar. I haven’t gone outside to go potty yet but I use a potty pad by the door. My foster parents think it’ll be quick and easy to train me for outside. I live with a small human (4) and a bigger one (10) and I love them! I am very calm and gentle with them but also love playing with them. I like my crate. It makes me feel safe. Mom puts a blanket over 3 sides of it and I really love that. I love toys! I especially love plushie toys! Probably because they’re soft and I really enjoy soft things…laps, blankets, couches, dog beds…if it’s soft I love it! My ideal home will have other dogs and people who will spoil me with snuggles. I will take a little longer to acclimate to a new environment because some things are scary and I need to check them out at my own pace. I also really love learning new tricks and commands, so I'd like someone to keep teaching me those things. I’ve been on a car ride 2 times. The first time I was with my brother and I did fine. The second time I was by myself and I really missed my brother so I cried a lot. I don’t get sick in the car though. At night, I sleep in a crate with my brother near my foster mom and dad. Sometimes we whine because we’d rather sleep with them, but we will listen if they ask us to be quiet. We usually wake up at least once to go potty and then we go back to sleep. I haven’t met any cats yet but I think I’d be okay with them because they’re soft and I’m so sweet. If you’re looking for a snuggly, smart, affectionate, and loyal companion, I’m your girl!
