Ridley is a male 2 ½ year old Anatolian Shepard mix. He is a big boy at around 60lbs but is very tall. When he stands on his hind legs, he can look you right in the eye. He has a short coat with a Shepard black face. He is beautiful. He needs time to adjust to other dogs, but when he does, he understands their cues and gets along pretty good with them. He is still a puppy, so you have to watch him. He loves to chew on everything, so we watch him and correct him when needed. He is making good progress with learning not to chew on things. Sometimes he has troubles sharing his toys but with the right dog friend he does pretty good. We have been working on his food aggression. We find it easier to separate him from the other animals when it is time to eat. We have been working sit and shake and he is learning these well. He knows the words, “outside”, and “kennel”. He is kennel trained and potty trained. He does sleep in the kennel many nights, because sometimes he gets bored and chews. We have had him sleep outside his kennel sometimes at night and the majority of those nights goes well. We really do believe his chewing stems from boredom. Ridley loves his hugs! He is very cuddly. He is a great dog and is usually pretty laid back. We are not sure about children because we do not have any young ones. Our dogs are okay with him if he follows their cues. We sometimes feel his size plays a roll in how our dogs react to him. We have a playful kitty that he loves to chase and play with. If your cat is okay, he is okay. Ridley will let you know if he does not like something, for us it is typically a growl that lets us know he is not happy. He really needs someone that understands his breed and to take ownership. His breed needs a strong leader, someone to take charge. We feel this love bug would make a great addition to the right home. He has so much love to give and is an amazing companion.
