Hello, my name is Lucky! I am a young Feist mix looking for my forever family that will spoil me with praise, belly rubs and keep me active.

I am very smart and eager to learn. I love to make my foster mom proud whenever I get a chance. My house training is making great progress and I already know that my kennel is a safe spot. I like it better when it’s covered with a blanket - it instantly calms me.

One of my favorite things to do is dig and run through the snow in the backyard with my dog pal Frankie. It’s typical for my breed to try to nip at heels when I’m around other dogs or cats, but I am not aggressive and I respond well to redirection. Speaking of cats, I am curious about the ones that currently live with me, so together with the help of my foster family and the resident dog I have learned to understand their language better. We seem to get along best when I respect their space, so I gave up chasing them for the most part. In exchange we share the bed for naps while my foster mom works on her computer and I let them take a sip from my water bowl. If my forever family already has another dog I am hoping my new buddy would be similar in size so we can wrestle and play tug of war. It’s fun for me to spend time with teenagers and older kids, but I haven’t had experience being around any little ones so far.

Being patient around food was hard for me at first, but now that I know there is always plenty for everyone I won’t try stealing it when someone tells me that they aren’t sharing. It’s still tempting for me, so my foster mom keeps it out of my reach in between feeding times and instead keeps toys and bones around for me me to chew on.

I don’t mind walking on a leash at all, though I’d rather spend my outside time in the yard with my teenage foster brothers throwing balls or sticks for me to fetch, which is a new game I learned. Since I am an alert and curious dog I pay attention to most things that make noise or move. If I get a chance to sit by a window you’ll catch me being entertained by watching squirrels and cars driving by and you’ll likely only hear a short bark from me to alert you when I see something that’s unfamiliar. I am getting really good at reading my foster mom’s clues as to whether she expects me to chill or if it’s okay when I try to investigate what’s going on. She appreciates how loyal I am and how quickly I catch on to new rules.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $395.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
