Hey there mateys! I'm the Captain of this here crew of 11 born November 30, 2020! We were born in a shelter in Arkansas. People say 2020 was a dumpster fire, but I don't think so since me and my crew caught a lucky break and hitched a ride northward with our Momma Mary when we were two weeks old. My Momma is a 50 pound Shepherd-Lab mix with the sweetest, most gentle demeanor ever! My foster mom named me Captain because not only was I the biggest of the litter, I also took care of the two littlest runts. Anywhere those two tinys were, you could always find me! The humans in the house had a vote, and I was voted most likely to make a new friend! I am an amiable lug who is always first at the gate to greet anything that approaches - man or beast! I have a thick, shiny black coat, and if mom didn't know better, she'd say I was a purebred black lab. Sometimes the humans can hear a rhythmic, "thump, thump, thump" from the kitchen and quickly run to see what trouble we're into, but it's usually just my tail thumping against the fridge. I'm playful; affectionate; love playing with toys and chasing my littermates; and LOVE to play with the big dogs! Like I said, I'm the biggest in the litter at about 12 pounds (at 9 weeks), but not too big to crawl up in your lap and cuddle like a champion. As you can see from my picture - I might be a big boy with the size of my paws! I might like to use those big paws to swim someday, cuz I'm rather fond of warm baths! I'm still a baby, so I might cry when I want you to pick me up, but other than that, I'm pretty quiet. I'm not potty trained yet, but I'm good about hitting the potty pads. We've had a pretty good time here, but mom and dad say it's time for us to find our forever homes now so they can have room to save more dogs! I guess that means I'm in the market for a new family - maybe it's yours? Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue.
