Lucia (Lucy) is a very sweet dog that is recovering from a challenging start of life. Not much is known about previous life, but she likely suffered mistreatment. The vet says she was likely pregnant every single heat cycle - she is estimated to be about 4 years old now. Despite her past, she is very affectionate and friendly to people. She does playfully bite, so she would not be good for a home with smaller children. She never learned how to be a dog, she is still learning how to play fetch, socialize with dogs, and learn social cues. She is great on a leash, but doesn't have much endurance past about a 20 minute walk. It is unknown how she would do with cats, but she seems to do well with other dogs. She is very food driven, which helps with training, but overall she is slow to learn. Food and sleeping on the couch are her favorite activities.
She did have some house accidents for the first two months of her foster placement, but they have improved after she is no longer on steroids. She is not destructive, and doesn't show much interest in chewing. Overall she is the sweetest little dog!
