“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” Quote by Josh Billings | ||||

Hi there! My name is Pugsley! My foster Momma calls me Bubba the Entertainer because I'm a silly and always busy boy that likes to put on a good show! I love to run around the kitchen and pull all the kitchen towels down, shred paper bags and relocate all the shoes in the house. I get moving so fast I trip over my feet and crash into things. I'm learning to play with dog toys instead of things I shouldn't play with. I'm an easy going guy and I get along just fine with the other dogs and people in my foster home. I don't really know how to play or interact much with the other dogs here yet but there isn't a mean bone in my body. I love getting belly rubs and ear scratches and I'll snort with enjoyment. I also love to be outside even in the cold and snow and explore in the yard. I'm still trying to figure out how to walk on a leash. I go potty well outside and I'm wearing a belly band in the house so that I don't mark my territory. I'm doing really well with house training on a schedule. I'm still trying to figure out how to be comfortable in the house and right now I'm a bit anxious and tend to pace around and run in circles instead of settling down to cuddle on furniture or a dog bed. I do really well in my kennel, sometimes it just takes me a few minutes to settle down if I feel like I'm missing out but I sleep in there while my foster family is working and overnight without any issues. I sleep on a blanket or crate mat in there without any destruction or accidents. I ride in the car in a crate very well and usually don't make any noise. I love food and treats and I'm working on learning some obedience and manners, but I'm a little stubborn, have the attention span of an ant and am not the quickest of learners, I am a Pug after all! Right now I like to jump on people and run around like a bit of a wild man chasing things, so I might not be the best fit for a home with small children or cats unless you are willing to be patient and teach me. My current foster home doesn't have any cats or kids. I've figured out how to go up and down a small flight of stairs and jump off furniture, but haven't been able to get my chunky butt up on the furniture or scale an entire flight of steep stairs yet.
I arrived in Minnesota the last week of January, after being released by a breeder in Missouri and was in desperate need of medical care. I have been diagnosed with a chronic eye condition called Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca, more commonly referred to as KCS or Dry Eye as well as a double ear infection. As a result, I am on a strict regimen of three eye ointments that must be given in a specific order five minutes apart twice per day for the rest of my life. The condition might require recheck vet visits and adjustments to medications. However, with treatment I am doing really well! I'm a bit squirmy for my eye medications, but it's getting easier every day. My ears will need regular cleaning and if done frequently should hopefully not continue to bother me often. Are you looking for a silly, playful and maybe a little bit high maintenance of a friend? If so, I may be the one for you!
