May I introduce Nate the Great. This medium-sized southern gentleman born approx. 2/11/18 came up from Texas this past February and has been working to evict some nasty heartworms for the past six months. Now that he is feeling better he is on the hunt for his forever home. Could that be with you?
Nate is a cuddler and wants nothing more than to sleep in with you on Saturday mornings, veg with you on the couch for some Netflix binging, or quietly chew on a bully stick while you cook something that smells delicious. While at home he will be your little shadow but when you do need to leave, he stays quietly in his crate with just some soft, sad whining at the thought of you leaving.
He loves food and if he were a little taller he might be a counter surfer, but his short basset legs mean he can't quite reach the goodies at the back. That being said, I have never had the problem with him being destructive or causing problems when left to his own devices and we have had no accidents in the house.
Nate is a homebody with a low level of energy. He has been the perfect work-from-home office mate. He doesn't really enjoy the outdoors or walks, we often have to start dragging him along halfway through. He is pretty timid with new places and new people but stands quietly and lets them introduce themselves. It takes a few days for him to warm up but once he does he loves to play with toys and will make sure he gets more than his fair share of attention. Lately, he has even taken to tussling with his doggy brothers.
Nate would make a great companion for any person or family with a low-key lifestyle. If you are looking for an on-the-go buddy he may not be the best fit, but if you want someone who will be thrilled when you come home and give you lots of doggy kisses he would love to meet you!
Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX, flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:$595.00
