Hi there! I’m Lil Bit, but my foster family calls me Lil Momma because I arrived in Minnesota from Kentucky on Valentine’s Day with my 5 little babies that were about 4 weeks old at the time. Now that my babies are getting a little older, I’m enjoying the chance to be pampered.  I love warm baths, belly rubs, chin scratches, snuggles, blankets, pillows and furniture.  I’m the sweetest tail wagging, happy to see you, gives lots of kisses, snuggly little girl!  I’d love to sit on the couch with you and snuggle while you watch TV.  Overall, I’m pretty calm and lazy and not too high energy of a dog.   I enjoy laying on the couch and looking out the window or napping on some fluffy blankets or pillows. I lay quietly in the kitchen while you cook dinner and don’t beg while you’re eating.  I’m still trying to figure out what to do with toys, but I like bones and Kong’s stuffed with canned food.  I have really good jumping skills and even though I’m small I can jump up on furniture with no issues, run up and down the stairs, jump into your arms, jump over small baby gates and attempt to jump on the counters.  I’m very food motivated which is helpful for working on some obedience skills and have already pretty much mastered sit and sit pretty.  My foster family has two small dogs and I get along with them just fine.  I don’t really play with them, but like their company.  I enjoy roaming around in the fenced yard and do really good at going potty out there, unless it’s below zero outside.  I’m really good at letting you know I need to go potty by barking, crying or circling near the door and now that I’m not nursing babies and eating and drinking so much I haven’t had any accidents.  I haven’t had much chance to practice walking on a leash, but I’m learning pretty quickly. I ride well in the car in my crate.  I like to be in my crate with the door open when I need a break from my babies, and I do well confined to our room with a baby gate.  I don’t make much noise at night or while my foster family is gone, maybe just a little whining at first, but settle down really quick.  I haven’t had many visitors but I tend to bark quite a bit when people come over or when I see the neighbor’s or people walk by outside, but I settle down relatively quickly with some gentle encouragement and treats.  There aren’t any kids or cats in my foster home, so I’m not sure how I like those.  Right now I’m pretty itchy and do a lot of chewing and licking at myself, so we’re working hard to figure out the cause of that.  We're trying a special food to see if that helps me, so far it seems to help and I like it!  If you’re looking for a small (less than 15 pounds) scruffy girl to snuggle with on the couch, I’m your girl!
