“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” Quote by Josh Billings | ||||

Willow is a 17 lb Springer Spaniel mix dog, approximately 3-4 month old. Like all puppies, she loves to run and jump and play. Her puppy inquisitive nature means she knows no boundaries. She’s always aware what’s going on around her with a curiosity to investigate. If something drops on the floor, she grabs for it. No shut door keeps her from trying to get through it. She hears a noise and she dashes to see what’s going on. On the other hand, she learned to sit on command by the second day at the foster. A thrown ball means go get it and, hopefully, bring it back (she does get distracted). She’s learned not to jump on furniture but will lean on the couch when she wants a pat or a cuddle. Nipping, biting or jumping up on people isn’t tolerated. In her puppy enthusiasm and playfulness she forgets. A quiet “no” stops her. After being reprimanded, Willow rushes to apologize with her head down. She gets a “good girl”cuddle which gives her reassurance that she’s forgiven. She’s learning. With tail wagging she bounces off to play. Willow cries if locked in her crate. It gives comfort to have her “heartbeat pillow” and a warmed towel to cuddle with at night. She’s so much happier with the crate door open inside a penned off area. She’s not potty trained yet but making good progress. She has a strong chewing need at this stage of development. Plenty of chew toys are needed. She’s eager to go outside but doesn’t want to be outside long or by herself. Willow has a very sweet personality, is eager to learn, is not a barker, and gets along with my yorkie. We don’t have cats or children but because of her mellow personality and playful nature, she should be good with both if introduced slowly to them. Willow deserves a home where she gets plenty of love and attention and is treated like a special member of the family. I think she adorable and her sweetness will melt everyone’s heart she meets.
