Hello! The name is Earl, a 1-2 year old, 40 lb labradoodle. Earl had a rough start to life confined to a kennel but has made great strides with his new lease on life. As he continues to adjust to his new life he is discovering his love for tennis balls, rope toys and chew toys such as the Kong. Earl is house trained on a schedule and enjoys being outside. He has learned to go in and out of the house and up and down the stairs in the matter of hours. We are working on learning to sit. He is working on walking on a leash but learns best when he can follow the lead of another dog. He is cautious when cars and loud noises pass but he will stop and check it out and then continue walking once they drive by. He is getting better on the leash everyday and enjoys going on walks and sniffing everything! He rides well in the car but for now needs help in and out of the car. He is learning to play with toys and to play with other dogs and an adoptive home that will have to continue to work on proper socialization, something he is picking up very quickly. He is slow to open up to new people and can be skittish but once comfortable he just wants to be around people and be loved. Earl has a lab personality which really shines when he runs around the yard and in his play style. He is interested in the resident but the cat wants nothing to do with him so he usually just stares at her. He enjoys laying outside in the sun, running around the yard and playing with the resident dog. He is crated when the fosters leave the house and will initially whine/bark but we have been leaving a Kong with treats for mental stimulation and that seems to help. His foster mom works from home so he is not in his kennel much and enjoys having company throughout the day. He is working on being comfortable confined in the crate but I think that due to his past that can make him anxious. Earl would appreciate an adopter who would not leave him alone for long periods as he does have  separation anxiety. We are working on his anxiety when we leave the house and he is doing a lot better. He does initially whine/back and will eventually settle down. The thundershirt seems to be helping. Eventually I think he would be able to stay out of the kennel with the company of another animal. He is such a sweet dog and is learning to trust people more and more everyday. He is adjusting to life as a pet and loves following the lead of the resident dog therefore would strive with a dog companion in his adoptive home  as well as a fenced in yard. When given the opportunity, Earl will make a great pet for anyone that is willing to be patient with him, give him time to adjust and progress at his comfort level. He will repay with lots of love and puppy kisses. *Earl has a scruffy coat and he does shed more like a lab, so not hypoallergenic.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $650.00
