Freda (a 3-year-old Yellow Lab if you can believe it) came to NDLB from an owner surrender. She had given birth to six puppies and was suffering from a skin disease called mange. Despite all of this, she was determined to protect and feed her new puppies not knowing that the six would eventually become seven. When another dog that had given birth recently to a single puppy suddenly died, Freda without hesitation took this orphaned pup under her wing (or in this case paw). Freda is now in a loving foster home getting the medical care she needs to help ensure she lives a long, loving, happy life. Unfortunately she may never grow fur again but that hasn't stopped her from being a loving mom and amazing dog. Her seven puppies have all found their forever homes and soon it will be her turn too!

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $425.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
